States!

Hello All,

States will be here before we know it! We already have many swimmers who have qualified, which is very exciting. We also understand that attending the State Championship isn't the right choice for every family, and that's completely okay.

I have not officially told the swimmers who has qualified yet, although some may already know. I plan to review all of the qualifying times this week and have the official list ready to share at Monday's practice. I wanted to send this information to families first so you have a head start reviewing everything and can begin making plans if needed.

We will need to submit our State Championship entries by Sunday the 25th. If you already know that your swimmer will not be participating, please let me know as soon as you can. Having that information early is very helpful as we finalize entries and allows us to be mindful of your family's plans during conversations with the swimmers.

Please also keep in mind that if your swimmer attends the meet, each family is expected to help by filling volunteer jobs. We are required to cover these positions as part of our team commitment. In fact, we sign a contract with the State Championship organizers, and fulfilling our assigned volunteer jobs is part of that agreement.

Thank you for taking the time to review this information. More details will be shared as we get closer to the meet, and I'm happy to answer any questions you may have.

I'm sharing this information early to help families plan, especially for carpooling and transportation. I know state meets involve long days, and coordinating schedules can be challenging, so I hope this gives everyone a little extra time to prepare.

Key Points:

*Swimmers with summer birthdays watch out! When you swim at states you swim in the age you are the day of the meet. This means at times we have kids that shift age groups and times are trickier to meet.

*You must have attended 2 meets. (There is a process to apply for a wavier if this is needed. That is new this year. Please reach out if you think you need this)

*Next Tuesday (Home) and Sat (Districts in Rutland) are the last chances for swimmers to qualify.
