States and Awards

Good Morning,

I'm working to get all left items, awards, and ribbons in one place for pick up. This includes state ribbons and medals.  It's time for swim team to leave my living room and car =).  Please stay tuned for where that location is. The pool is great and there has been some hiccups in getting things to kids. (It's busy at the front desk and things get moved around.)

On to States!!!!

What an incredible weekend at the State Meet!

We brought 18 swimmers, competed in 61 individual events, and swam 6 relays. For a small team, that is an amazing accomplishment!

So many of our swimmers dropped time and swam best times or came very close to their best races. We had athletes finish in the top 10 and top 20 in many events.  We also had swimmers who worked incredibly hard all season just to earn the opportunity to compete at states. Some younger events had 83 entries!!!! Every single swimmer should be proud.

One of my favorite races of the meet was our 18 and under  medley relay. The relay order:

Yanni (16 yrs) on backstroke

Orlaith (12 yrs) on breaststroke

Kiefer (15 yrs) Butterfly

Quinn (14 yrs) Freestyle

These kids were amazing!

Yanni kicked us off right from the start with a powerful backstroke and perfect turn. Orlaith swam a strong, steady leg that kept us moving closer to the pack. Kiefer flew through the butterfly leg, and Quinn brought us home with an incredibly strong finish.

This relay team gave it everything they had and finished 9th-place finish overall. What was most important was how pumped they were about the race.

The results are attached and data man Greg has entered them into the SwimTopia app.

Be Well and Keep Swimming!
